Kin is built so that your home's memory stays in your home. This page explains what this website collects, what the Kin app keeps, and the choices you have. Kin is made by Evaanadoo LLC, a New Jersey company ("we").

Your Kin account

When you create a free account we keep your email address, your first name if you add it, a scrambled form of your password (never the password itself), the Kin character you pick, the plan, add-ons and features you choose, whether you want our emails, and your country (from your connection, not your exact location). We use them to run your account, to set up your Kin, and to tell you about Kin if you said yes.

Kin Now and Connections (on this website)

Kin Now lets you talk to your Kin here on the website before the home app is set up. Unlike the home app, it runs in the cloud:

The Kin app

Kin runs on a computer in your home. Your memories, messages, routines and voice profiles are stored there, not on our servers.

Children

Kin accounts are for adults 18 and over. Kin can help a family with children at home; children's information is used only inside your home, and only as the account holder sets up.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can ask us to access, correct or delete your information, or to stop emailing you. Residents of some states, including California, have additional rights under state law. We answer within 30 days.

Security

We protect what we hold with encryption in transit, limited access and regular review. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we'll tell you as the law requires.

Changes and contact

If we change this policy in a meaningful way, we'll email account holders before the change applies. You can delete your account at any time from Profile & security in your account. To reach us before Kin's support address is live, write to us from the email on your account. Evaanadoo LLC, New Jersey, USA.
